Business & Careers

The counseling arm of the Miller Business Resource Center offers patrons, ages 14 and up, a variety of free services designed to assist them in their quest for a career. A one-on-one relationship ensures individualized attention.

Patrons heading for college or vocational training can find guidance, options, test-taking pointers, and financial aid possibilities. Young adults seeking a first job can avail themselves of occupational research and help with employment applications. Job-seekers can take advantage of guidance resumes, cover letter preparation, interviewing and networking strategies. Patrons can access employment directories and specialized resources including out-of-state newspapers. Career-changers may wish to take the Strong Interest Inventory or the Myers-Briggs personality indicator and receive information on continuing/adult education opportunities.

A host of materials and resources supports the counseling program: books, periodicals and pamphlets, audio and videocassettes, microfiche, computer software, databases and internet access.

Counseling is available by appointment only. Contact the Miller Business Reference Desk at Ext. 133 for appointment availability or click here.
