1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Read any book to your child and for each book you read together (even if you’ve already read it) color in a book on your 1,000 books reading log or record it in your online account.

You will receive a reward for every 100 books read (you can redeem this at Centereach or Selden).

Once you have reached 1,000 books, head to Centereach & your child will receive their final book, a medal, & have his/her picture taken with a special sign, which is then displayed for all to see!

Stop by Centereach or Selden and sign up with one of our Youth Services librarians to get your starter packet, then start your reading journey with your child!

Use the login created for you by the librarian to track your reading online, or you can track using the paper sheets in your starter packet.
