Every year since 2008, Middle Country Reads brings our community members together through reading. All participants read the same book and then have the opportunity to attend library-hosted discussions and meet-the-author events. 2021’s selection was If the Creek Don’t Rise by Leah Weiss. Established in 2002, Long Island Reads is an island-wide reading initiative sponsored by the public libraries of Suffolk and Nassau counties. Each spring, book lovers across Long Island come together to read the same book, participate in discussions of the selection and enjoy related events in their public libraries.
