Community Mosaic: A Collaborative Art Project

Community Mosaic: A Collaborative Art Project

Throughout the summer, community members contributed their talents to our Community Mosaic project. The project began in May with kick-off sessions featuring mosaic artist Libby Hintz. During July and August, library patrons attended workshops and drop-in sessions creating close to 500 fourinch sections which, joined together, create the impressive 14-foot wide mural which will hang in the community room. Please join us on Saturday, October 19th at 11:00 a.m. for the Installation Celebration of this special community art project. All are welcome!

This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Huntington Arts Council. Additional support provided by the Middle Country Library Foundation.
