Family Center Services

By appointment – MCPL Selden and MCPL Centereach
The Family Center at MCPL provides clients with free counseling, information & referral, and case management. To make an appointment, please email familycenter@mcplibrary.org or leave a voicemail at 631-585-9393 ext. 290. All Services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL.

HIICAP

Speak with a HIICAP counselor over the phone to get answers to your questions about Medicare – Parts A & B, Medicare Drug Plans – Part D and other health insurance. Appointments will take place on 12/4, or 12/18 every 30 minutes between 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. For more information, please call 631-585-9393 x295.

Long Island Cares Mobile Food Van

Wednesdays, December 30th and January 27th at 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon – MCPL Centereach parking lot
Long Island Cares will have a mobile food pantry van on site for a 3-day food distribution. No identification required.

Senior Connections

Senior Connections are happening in person! This confidential library-based information and referral service helps link older adults and their families to needed health and social services. This service is available each month on the 1st and 3rd Fridays in Selden and the 2nd and 4th Thursdays in Centereach from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Shots for Tots

Tuesdays, December 1st and January 5th at 10:00 am to 1:30pm – MCPL Selden
Drop in for FREE immunizations for children. This service is provided by the Suffolk County Department of Health. For children with no health benefits and please bring your child’s immunization record. For more information call the SCDH at 631-854-0222.

SNAP

Wednesdays, December 16th and January 20th at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. – MCPL Selden
Meet with a representative from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to get information and help with enrollment.
