On June 14th the library was pleased to welcome 21 new citizens at the Literacy Celebration, recognizing the accomplishments of the students of the Adult Learning Center, who work diligently to learn language, computer and job skills and, for many, to attain their dream of United States citizenship. At this special event, the offices of NYS Senator Mattera, NYS Assemblyman Smith, NYS Assemblyman DeStefano, Legislator Caracappa and Councilman LaValle honored the new citizens with certificates commemorating their achievement. Special thanks to Dean Murray, who represented Senator Mattera and Assemblyman DeStefano at the event.
