Crochet It! is a community-focused tree wrapping project that involves the independent creation of thousands of colorful crocheted circles. This project will culminate in two unique art installations at the library to be enjoyed by all for years to come.

Artist Carol Hummel will visit MCPL to tell us more about the project and to offer instructional workshops so everyone can help create the art. She will return in September to begin the installations.

Crochet It! Kits, complete with all the materials needed to create the needed circles, will be available for pick up at the Centereach Adult Services reference desk beginning at our Crochet It! Kickoff Weekend on June 10th & 11th.

Participants can work individually at home as well as attend drop-in crochet sessions with instructors at the library. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity of creating art, by the people, and for the people, of our tight-knit community.

June 10th, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. & June 11th, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
