MCPL teens are next-level creative. We know. We’ve seen it. The Underground Media Studio is a place for teens in 8th-12th grade to stretch new creative muscles or perfect your skills in:
- Music
- Photography
- Movie Making
- Podcasting
Take and edit photos of your friends that are Instagram-worthy.
Mix beats with Garageband, a Midi keyboard, guitars and a drum kit. Record a single or DJ for your friends!
Write film and edit your own short movies. Upload them to YouTube and Vimeo. Submit them to contests.
Chat about your current favs in a podcast. Invite your friends!

How To Use the Underground Media Studio

- Drop-In Sessions: Once a month, teen librarians host hands-on drop-in sessions. Use the equipment and ask questions. Bring friends and your creativity!

- One-on-One Sessions: If you’re eager to make content but not sure where to start, call us to set up a 1:1 appointment with a librarian. We can discuss your creative interests and goals and get you going!

- Earn a Badge. Come Down Anytime: Earn a Virtual Badge on Beanstack to familiarize yourself with the equipment. Complete the Virtual Badges for Music, Photography, Movie Making, and Podcasting that will allow you to use the equipment in the studio anytime it’s open.
Underground Media Studio Hours:
Monday-Friday 1:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
